It seems like I have been drawing all my life.  I grew up in Ewing, Missouri, a small town of about 340 people.  I also spent a lot of time on my grandparent’s farm in Steffenville, MO.  The rural community was my subject matter.  My talent and interest in art came from my dad.  He was always drawing horses for me.

I never had any formal art training other than classes in grade, middle, and freshman art in high school.  So it has mainly been trial and error.

I decided to try painting about 16 years ago.  But a year later I remarried and gained 4 children (I had 2 of my own).  So painting had to be put aside to raise my family.  Then in 2000 I decided to try again and have been at it ever since.

My painting style is mainly realistic and my favorite medium is acrylics.  I paint from photographs that I have taken myself.  I like a lot of looser styles but my brain doesn’t work that way yet.  (But I am working on it!)
