"I have always loved being creative. Through the years I've tried many
forms of art but was never satisfied with the outcome. I stumbled upon
jewelry making when I saw a piece I liked and wondered if I could make
it myself. After many errors and clumsy-looking attempts, I began making
pieces I would wear myself.  Amazingly, friends and family started
buying from me. Since I have always loved all types of jewelry, creating
it now seems to be a natural choice for personal expression.

I buy stones based on their look and the way they feel against my skin.
Before buying, I'll walk around holding them in my hand, wondering at
their uniqueness. Then I get excited about the way I could make them
into something pleasing to me and, hopefully, others. I put them away
for a while; there's joy in owning them, however briefly, and knowing
they are waiting for me. After a few days, an idea comes to me for the
perfect combination to make the necklace (or bracelet or earrings) special.

To me jewelry is not just the final addition to an outfit. It sets the
tone for the outfit and the mood of the wearer. Jewelry compliments
clothing and compliments a person's outlook on life. Your jewelry is a
statement of who you are inside. If your "inside" isn't matching the
outside, change the outside. Jewelry can dress up or dress down any
style. It's not necessary to match exact colors; nature's colors aren't
all in the same palette.

Friends have told me they like a particular piece of jewelry but worry
about having an outfit that would look good with it. My philosophy is:
If you are attracted to the piece, you do, or soon will, have something
to go with it. Wardrobe choices are made based on what you like, what
appeals to you. Jewelry is no different. And, the best part is, you
don't have to worry about the fit! With jewelry - one size fits all!

In a previous life, I was a special education teacher. I loved my job.
When I retired after 31 years, I wanted to find something else I would
love as much. Jewelry making is that new passion. I am married to a
wonderful and patient man. We have a beautiful, adult daughter starting
her own life adventure. With the encouragement of my family and friends,
I, too, am pursuing a new and exciting venture."
